Teen singing sensation Justin Bieber was ill while performing for his Filipino fans at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on Tuesday night, American blogger and television personality Perez Hilton reported.
In his blog, Hilton wrote that Bieber was so sick that he vomited backstage “in between songs.”
Bieber, Hilton said, has been diagnosed with bad chest infection even before his one-night Manila concert started.
Quoting his source, the American blogger said the 17-year-old singer “was advised to either cancel the show or do an abbreviated set… But he insisted on going on. So they cut down the show, but once the show started he kept going."
“Bieber ended up doing his normal, 90-minute set for his Filipino concertgoers! Despite being very ill! Thankfully, though, Justin has the next two days off so he can and should and plans to rest,” Hilton wrote.
On Tuesday night, hundreds of his fans, collectively known as “Beliebers,” showed up at SM Mall of Asia to watch the teen superstar perform. Most of his young Filipino fans were wearing violet shirts with his name written on it. Violet is said to be Bieber’s signature color.
“@justinbieber we lined up this evening at #MOA ¤bcoz of you ¤bcoz we #love u,” tweeted Itsmeadrean.
Local celebrities, including sisters Claudine Barretto and Marjorie Barretto, also trooped to the venue.
Despite being sick, Bieber did not disappoint. On Twitter, Filipino Beliebers were all praises for the young singer after the concert.

The Canadian singer left the Philippines for Hong Kong around 10 a.m. on Wednesday to continue his world tour concert.
Before boarding, he also signed autographs and met some teenagers, who were able to secure a security pass at the exit of presidential lounge at the arrival area.
The singer reportedly told an airport cameraman to back off.
Bieber was the last to board Philippine Airlines Flight PR 318, whose flight was almost delayed after the passengers and airline personnel mobbed him to get his autograph.
