Celebrated in front of the Burbank Police-Fire Headquarters on Orange Grove Ave & Third Street, there will be vehicle displays, demonstrations, firefighting activities for kids, behind-the-scenes fire station tours, continuous live entertainment, food and special appearances by Officer McGruff and the Department’s popular mascot, Lil' Squirt.
It’s a rare inside look at day-to-day firehouse operations and a great way to understand what’s involved in vehicle "Jaws of Life" extrication, airport crash units and hazmat operations. Learn rappelling skills and meet the men and women of the Burbank Fire Department, dedicated to providing a safe environment for all of us to live and work in.
What’s more, the Burbank Fire Department is joining with the Burbank Police Department in recognizing National Police Memorial Week, May 15 through 21. Burbank Police will be on hand with a helicopter • K-9 Unit • Special Response Team • Cyber Safety • Traffic Bureau • Seatbelt Smart • Take 25 • Animal Shelter • Mobile Command Center • Motors • COPS • Baker to Vegas Team • Juvenile Bureau • Explorers and the Bearcat Tactical Vehicle. National Police Memorial Week pays tribute to law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
