Rebecca Black Under Police Protection After Death Threats

Teen singer Rebecca Black has been placed under police protection after receiving two death threats.

The 13-year-old shot to fame with her single 'Friday' going viral within days of hitting the web. The heavily auto-tuned hit went has been viewed over 110 million times online, attracting mainly  criticism.

Black has since received two death threats, one over the phone and another via email, reported Radar online.

"One of the threats came over the phone and another emailed," said Rick Martinez, a spokesperson for the Anaheim, California Police.

"The threats were related to getting the music off the Internet or they would kill her. We are taking the threats very seriously."

Black has reportedly earned somewhere in the region of $ 20,000 through YouTube's revenue sharing plan, as well as "thousands of dollars" from iTunes sales.

Hit TV musical 'Glee' recently announced that it would be performing Black's viral hit on a forthcoming episode of the show.

Rebecca Black's "Friday" Billboard Unveiling

Having made a name for herself thanks to her viral video "Friday," Rebecca Black was honored with a special present in Hollywood, CA on Friday afternoon (April 15).
The teen Internet sensation took to LaBrea & San Vincente to help unveil her very own digital billboard celebrating her debut single reaching 100 million views on YouTube.

According to Ryan Seacrest, Miss Black was "given the billboard as congratulations from her parents for surpassing the milestone" with the streetside tribute featuring a message reading "It’s Friday, Friday, Friday”.
The celebratory event comes just as New York Magazine has confirmed that Rebecca's catchy tune will covered on the forthcoming prom episode of "Glee" - with the song to be performed by Kevin McHale's Artie, Mark Salling's Puck and Chord Overstreet's Sam.

Rebecca Black Talks About Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez And Death Threats

In a brand new photo shoot, 13-year-old YouTube phenom Rebecca Black can be seen wearing a wide green Justin Bieber bracelet around her wrist -- so it's no surprise she's flattered by people comparing her to him.

"I love Justin Bieber so it is like the biggest compliment I've ever gotten I think, so, it's so cool," she tells E! News.

She hopes that one day they can collaborate on a song, though she doesn't have any preferences for they type of music they go for. "I would leave that up to him. He's had more experience than I've had, so that's his choice."

Black, who is currently fielding offers from Jay Leno, Ellen DeGeneres, and Good Morning America, says that her pop idol is Selena Gomez. "I love Selena Gomez," she says. "She's been in the industry since she was so young, and she hasn't gotten caught up in all of the rehab or drugs or whatever."

Gomez and Black have something in common. They've recently been fending off scary Twitter death threats. "It doesn't scare me," Black says. "They're people that don't know me. They'd have to do a lot to get a hold of me and I have a really good support team and a lot of protection going on, so I think I'm good."

Black's newest song should be out this month. "Get ready to hear what I actually sound like...without a ton of autotune," she recently tweeted.

Rebecca Black Admires Selena Gomez

 Rebecca Black is a fan of today's young celebrity couple, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. After admitting that she has Bieber Fever, the 13-year-old girl now admits she also digs the 18-year-old Disney babe who is none other than Justin's alleged girlfriend.

"I totally admire her," Rebecca tells People, before detailing what makes her admire Selena. "I think it's awesome that she hasn't taken that downward spiral that other child stars have taken." She further reveals her other celebrity crush, saying "And I really love Katy Perry, too."

To the site, the "Friday" songstress also explains on what level she is as Justin's devotee. "I am so dorky when it comes to Justin Bieber," she says. "I have a little mini shrine in my room." Asked about how she would feel if the "Baby" hitmaker invites her for collaboration, she states, "I would scream at the top of my lungs and possibly not be able to sing again."

Another fact gained from Rebecca is that she has interest in musical theater. "I got the lead this year for Oklahoma!" she shares. "I've always been in our school's shows, ever since first grade." And her mother goes on claiming that the eighth-grader is a smart student. "She's also an honors student," Georgina Kelly says. "She's won spelling bees ... she's a smart cookie."

Is There A Feud Brewing Between Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez And Rebbeca Black?

If bad “reporting” is an art, HollywoodLife is Picasso.
Managing to stoop even lower than usual, the outlet asks hopefully, “Is There A Feud Brewing Between Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez & Rebecca Black?”
Gossip Cop can answer: No, no there is not.
But let’s examine just how ridiculous HollywoodLife’s speculation becomes.
According to the site, Black allegedly “cast the first stone by gushing about Selena’s guy Justin Bieber in interviews.”
Seriously? A 13-year-old girl talks about how much she loves Justin Bieber, and it’s supposedly equivalent to attacking his girlfriend?
Nice work, HollywoodLife. Especially considering this girl already receives death threats, and fans have been known to harass anyone linked to Bieber romantically.
“Furthermore, comparisons between Rebecca and Demi have been frequent,” adds HollywoodLife, which illustrates its point by linking to a HollywoodLife article comparing Black and Gomez.
Not Lovato. Gomez.
Yup… HollywoodLife used itself as its own source – and couldn’t even manage to do that right.
“Some have even speculated Rebecca could replace Demi as the next Disney Channel ‘it girl,’” claims the site, which conveniently forgets to cite a single person or outlet who’s ever actually said Black “could replace” Lovato.
“Let’s hope Rebecca doesn’t try to ignite something with Demi’s ex, Joe Jonas… then this pseudo-love triangle might get really ugly!” explains an excited HollywoodLife.
Really?
Jonas is 21 years old.
There’s absolutely nothing at all to suggest that 13-year-old Black wants to “ignite something” with him. Nothing. HollywoodLife isn’t even pretending to inhabit the actual universe anymore.
All HollywoodLife wants to do is spread rumors about Black stealing Lovato’s career and ex-boyfriend.
HollywoodLife wants to pit teenage girls – and their fans – against each other, by creating a feud that does not exist.
It’s cheap and cynical garbage.
