We went last year in July and I was nervous at first. It is a 15 minute ride each way with gorgeous views. My toddler sat on my husbands lap (a requirement for his age) and I was still nervous. My toddler loved it! He pointed at different plants, birds, and squirrels. He loved waving at the other people coming the opposite direction.
On top it is 10-15 degrees cooler. We ate lunch and hiked...then took the ride back. They have a restaurant on the top which I hear have great nachos.
